Scissors 2013 Conference Party

Scissors celebrated their 2012 achievements during their 2013 Conference Party at the Marriott Hotel in Bournemouth and awarded the best Stylist, best Salon, best Juniors as well as Special Merit Awards for outstanding contribution to their salon and a Director’s award for special contribution to the group.

Scissors Salon on ‘Trends’

Bournemouth based hairdressing salon group Scissors is celebrating success with one of the group’s stylists, Naomi Francis from their Scissors Salon in Ferndown, winning a place at the UK competition final in London in September 2011.
This year’s final saw 23 of the UK and Ireland’s most talented young stylists, plus 19 of the best colourists battle it out, with the winners going on to represent UK at the Wella Professional Trend Vision Award International Final in new York in October 2011.
The Trend vision Award presented by Wella Professionals, the global market-leading manufacturer of professional salon products, is an annual competition open to all salon-based hairdressers. Stylists and colourists are invited to submit photographic entries showing their individual interpretations of one of four international inspired trend predictions in fashion, hair and design, which for 2011 are classified as Passionista, Lumina, Glamazon and Polaris.
Having won the Wella Trend Vision Southern Heat, Naomi went on to win a place in the UK Finals in the Colour category and chose to interpret the Passionista trend creating a total look on a live model. (see winning image).

Launch Party at Scissors (Christchurch)

Award winning hair salon group Scissors, with already six well-established salons in Bournemouth town-centre, Winton, Westbourne, Ferndown, Poole and New Milton began the expansion of the group with the opening in August last year of a brand new salon in the fashionable Furlongs shopping centre, Ringwood and is now celebrating the addition of an eighth salon to the group with the successful opening of its latest salon in the Saxon Square Shopping Centre, Christchurch.
Spread over 2 floors, this spacious new salon is stylish and superbly furnished. Led by Directors and franchisees Darren Hayward and Louise Murray, the new team of highly experienced stylists is committed to providing all their clients with the highest quality hairdressing and customer service. Darren commented, ‘‘we are determined to treat all our clients as individuals and exceed their expectations. To ensure we understand exactly what our clients are looking for from their hairstyle, every client is given a personal consultation in our specially designed consultation room. All aspects of the cut, colour and condition of our clients hair is important to us as well as understanding their needs, ideas and lifestyle.’’
To mark the opening of the salon on the 17th November and during the first two weeks the salon was open, all clients were offered a complimentary Cut and Finish and invited to make a cash donation to support two local charities, Macmillan Local and The Red Rangers Fund, nominated by Darren and Louise. With many clients choosing to donate the normal cost of their appointment, the total raised was an incredible £3,800!
The launch party on Monday, 12th December welcomed many of their new clients together with friends, family, guests from many of the other Scissors salons and representatives of the chosen charities from the Red Ranger Fund and Macmillan Local

I’m sure that local residents and visitors to the Christchurch area will find Scissors a fantastic place to come for all of their hairdressing needs.

Scissors Academy Opens in 2012

A natural progression to their commitment to staff training, now in conjunction with its sister company, Francesco Group, a recognised national training provider, Scissors has opened up its training courses to young apprentices from other local salons from the beginning of 2012.
